The philosophy of our pearl farm
When we chose to set up in the greatest lagoon in Polynesia, we opted on purpose for a semi-extensive aquaculture. It led to spaced out pearl oysters farming structures.
On the one hand, we work with local grafters, while most farms use Chinese pearl workers.
On the other hand, we keep a close watch on the ecology of the lagoon, and we make sure that inorganic waste does not end up somehow thrown in the water.
The growth period of the pearls, ranges from 20 to 24 months. This involves much handling work in order to look after the oysters.
